about Genevieve Chua (Singapore): I am an artist and photographer.

career highlights: Some of my shows include As Brutal As: A Drawing Show (Singapore, 2007), Raised as a Pack of Wolves, which was presented by the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival (Singapore, 2009), Full Moon and Foxes, an installation commissioned by National Museum of Singapore as part of the Singapore Art Show (Singapore, 2009) and CUT 2009: figure, New Photography from Southeast Asia (Kuala Lumpur; Singapore 2009).

which creative people, places and things on your radar right now?

people: Yimmy Yayo, and Data is Nature.

what's your favourite daydream? That for a day, everyone could just detach themselves from their computers and electronic devices. Lately, this hasn't been much of a nightmare for me. In fact, it proved to be rather insightful.

what was the last rule you broke? I took a taxi home although I was just 300 metres away because the heat was blistering.

if you could ask a question of someone you respect, who and what would you ask?

Junichiro Tanizaki, the author of In Praise of Shadows: "Would you have liked to be born in another era, instead of this world which has become too brightly lit?"
