about Sean Lee (Singapore): I am a photographer represented by Ooi Botos Gallery in Hong Kong. I am in the midst of doing up my blog but it is not totally done up yet. So far it contains links to articles online which talk about my work as well as some images from my "Redemption of Shauna" series which is still a work in progress. The idea is to make a book at the end.
career highlights: Being one of only fifteen photographers worldwide to be nominated for the prix découverte and to have a show in Arles Photo Festival 2009 in France; Getting nominated for the Paul Huf Award given out by Foam_Fotografie Museum Amsterdam in 2010.
which creative people, places and things are on your radar right now?
people: I have been looking for people who make toys. I wanna make some limited edition Shauna toys. Right now I'm trying to get some Shauna watches made so I can sell them on my blog. Lately I've also been looking at works by Thomas Rusch. I find his backstage series totally intriguing. My sister is in California right now and I really wanna go over to see her because I miss her a lot.
what is your favourite daydream? I often dream of having a Shauna theme Park. It would be like a Tim Burton movie set - full of colour but having slightly dark undertones. And then maybe I could have a huge sculpture of Shauna in the middle.
what was the last rule you broke? I try not to break any laws as I live in Singapore. I have been telling myself a long time now to get sufficient sleep but it's just not happening. I'm in the midst of working out for myself a more routine lifestyle. I have only just started making some meaningful progress recently.
if you could ask a question of someone you respect, who and what would you ask? I'm really not sure about this. But I often wondered what my Dad did time for but he never spoke about it.
