which creative people, places and things on your radar right now?
people: I’ve been a fan of Marc Crastes' work since seeing his short animation Jo Jo in the Stars produced under studio aka. I have been interested in the Criterion Collection and have started picking up films of interest.
things: The best film discovery in recent years was Midnight Cowboy by Jerome Hellman and John Schlesinger. It’s a film I’d always assumed I’d seen but hadn’t. Perfection in every sense of the word.
what’s your favourite daydream? That I’ll one day wake up, walk into a room that overlooks the ocean surrounded by mountains. I'll create music during the day and watch the stars at night. My family are happy. The world is silent. The Bank is happy.
what was the last rule you broke? Verse, Chorus, Verse, Chorus, Middle Eighth Chorus, Fade...
if you could ask a question of someone you respect, who and what would you ask?
Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins): "After you had written Tonight Tonight, how did it feel when you played it for the first time to someone close that you trust and you saw their reaction?"
