putting the world to rights. Playboy. the real story.

E-mail Print PDF

about Simon Lunt (UK): I have trained and worked as a graphic designer for over 20 years, but in the last few years have been doing my own illustration and photography to sell as art and also for my sanity. I work full time as a designer at EHS Brann in my spare time!

career highlights: After a heavy night out in North London putting the world to rights, I stumbled into an agency in London as a freelance designer only to discover I was to rebrand Playboy for the UK. I did a lot of research on that one.

which creative people, places and things on your radar right now?

people: I try to do my own thing but I appreciate and respect other artists' work. I do have a Banksy at home though and really love old movie posters. In particular, I follow the work of Saul Bass.

places: I am trying to plan a trip somewhere for new shots, thinking Norway or Las Vegas. Hot or Cold. Hmmm. Desert or Snow. Can't decide. Help!

things: I sometimes use iWeb to build simple websites and have put some of my work up for sale on imagekind.  I couldn't cope without my Mac and all my speakers. But what I really need is an implement that extracts rogue hairs that appear out of various nooks and crannies once you hit the age of 35!

what’s your favourite daydream? Travelling the world with my camera, a bucket of money in the bank and a pretty young thing to keep me motivated.

what was the last rule you broke? I don’t break rules I bend them. But I was once arrested for going to the toilet in the foyer at Safeway! Was a long long time ago and was very drunk!

if you could ask a question of someone you respect, who and what would you ask?

Terry Nutkins: "What was the real story with that otter?"
