MeshMinds was commissioned by the British Council to help promote the Lalapatos collection at the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) Conference from 25 to 28 June 2019. Through implementing Augmented Reality (AR) effects, MeshMinds was able to highlight the creative process behind the construction of the Lalaptos shoe to audiences in a more meaningful and engaging way.
MeshMinds designed an interactive AR menu, which consisted of key facts and images revolving around how the journey of the shoes’ construction. Visitors were treated to an array of interactive text, pictures, and even videos of the shoes’ construction process—all within the click of a button.
More specifically, we showcased how the shoes have traveled across the cities of Manila, Rizal, and Marikina throughout the days of rigorous craftsmanship. We also highlighted the interweaving of sustainable fashion (via upcycling) together with the artistic beauty of the shoes’ place of creation. The Lalapatos shoes are a collaborative effort between Zapateria Hub and Maco Custodio, with the entire project being supported by the British Council.
