Animaker Asia / André Wee and OMAi
Animaker Asia is an interactive exhibit that harnesses the power of artificial intelligence to allow you to build, scan and virtualise endangered species of Southeast Asia. Using Duplo bricks, you can create your favourite animal and see it live and interact in a virtual world. The exhibit demonstrates how the virtual world can extend our experiences in the physical world, through the power of AI. The experience was made possible by a collaboration between The Tech Museum of Innovation and Resonai in Silicon Valley, OMAi in Austria, The MeshMinds Foundation and Andre Wee in Singapore.
André Wee - Animaker Asia:
André Wee is a 3D world builder, illustrator and visual artist who graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design, RISD (USA). His works are primarily a reaction to the displacement, alienation and in-betweenness experienced between the constantly changing landscapes that he has lived and moved around in. He finds inspiration, obsession and calm in creating spaces both real and imagined, physical or digital, logical and impossible.
